Incredibly detailed custom cabinets gave the appearance of 19th century furniture while delicate floral wallpaper created the perfect backdrop for her teacups which she displayed on open shelves. But the real showstopper was the vintage cast iron stove, which was gotten from an antique dealer, cleaned and restored to its original state and made to conform to the current safety standards. It is a space that is not only a reflection of Sarah’s story but takes her to her much-loved literary worlds every time she walks into the room.

The Martinez family wanted to incorporate their Mexican heritage into their new kitchen, and we wanted to help them do that. Mrs. Martinez produced a hand painted pottery set from her great grandmother. Rather than having these treasures sitting in a cupboard, RVA Choice created a spot with soft lighting to showcase the colors.

But it doesn’t end at displays. We also transformed a client’s grandfather’s workbench into a unique kitchen island in another project. The aged wood with its nicks and marks told a story of family craftsmanship. We restored it as best as we could without erasing the character and added a sleek quartz top.
